I am a Chicana solo-performer artist working with playwrights, directors and designers that address the social concerns and day-to-day experience of the Mexicana woman living in the USA. For over 20 years I have traveled throughout USA, Mexico, Cuba, and Peru with several one-woman productions. I have had the unique experience of performing my productions for labor camps, correctional facilities, universities, colleges, conferences, symposiums, small to large theater houses and International Theatre Festivals. From rural to urban communities, the experiences have been the same, overwhelming with emotion, challenging to the human spirit and defiance to create a better value of life for all. I am foremost an actor. The characters that I portray are bilingual and bicultural. The stories are issue driven but the delivery of my characters help in challenging a community that sometimes does not have a voice. The titles of my productions are "A Women's Work" (premiered 1984), "Dona Rosita's Jalapeno Kitchen" (premiered 1995) and "Rosita's Day of the Dead" (premiered 1999).
